MoFruit HDA (Houdini Engine)
Houdini Digital Asset
I was appalled the other day when searching the 3D stock sites for fruit - one tomato model cost $34. That is insane pricing IMO. And no beading, no variations :(
Since I last worked for an agency I vowed to one day make time to create some 3D fruit. I was going to traditionally model, sculpt and then surface, but... Houdini came into my pipeline, and I really thought hard and wondered if I could do fruit by using procedural methods. A new personal challenge came about and the resulting mesh will give you a usable mesh which can be seen in the videos linked here.
At the moment, yes, it is one fruit, a tomato, but it is cheaper than $34, and it will offer you many variations, not just the one.
I am aiming for a catalogue of fruit, and I will be keeping the cost around this area of £12. You could have 6 tomatoes which is equivalent to £2 for one tomato (not $34).
I am aiming to get the strawberry in next, it has been semi completed, but I was never happy with the leaf system! This should be imminent as the basis has been set (I will link a video here so you can see what you will eventually get).
